Why we built Emberix
Most network and attack-surface assessment platforms are built and priced for enterprise security teams. They come with five- and six-figure contracts, sales cycles measured in quarters, and feature sets aimed at organizations with a dedicated security budget.
MSPs don't sell to those organizations. They sell to the twenty-person law firm, the dental practice, the local retailer. These businesses need real security visibility but can't absorb an enterprise price tag, and that the big platforms simply don't build for.
We built Lens because we needed that assessment ourselves, running it against our own clients. It's evidence-first: every finding traces back to something an agent or scan actually observed, not a generic checklist. MSPs buy it wholesale, per client tenant, cheaper as the roster grows. It is the only pricing model that survives getting resold to a small business. Internal IT and compliance teams buy the same platform directly, on a flat monthly or annual account, for their own network.
What we care about
Priced for the clients everyone else ignores
Wholesale, per-tenant pricing that gets cheaper as your client list grows, not per-device metering that punishes you for having more clients.
Evidence over guesswork
Every finding traces back to something Lens actually observed, so the report you hand a client holds up to their questions.
Built by people who've run the pager
We built this to solve our own MSP problems first. Roadmap decisions get judged against what actually helps a partner close and deliver work.
We answer the phone
Onboarding is sales-assisted on purpose. You get a real walkthrough before you commit, not a self-serve signup and a support ticket queue. True whether you're onboarding a client roster or a single account.
How we got here
- The problem
Enterprise tools, priced for enterprise clients
We spent years on the MSP side of the table, running assessments, buying tools, and watching the good ones get priced for enterprise accounts. Small and mid-sized clients, the bulk of what most MSPs actually manage, kept getting left out.
- The build
Lens, built for the assessments we actually needed to run
Lens started as a way to run real network and attack-surface assessments without a five-figure annual contract. It is evidence-first, with reporting a small-business client could actually understand.
- Opening up
Built for one MSP, then opened to others
Once Lens was solid enough to run our own client work on, it made sense to open it up, with wholesale pricing that mirrors how MSPs already buy, and delegated access that doesn't force a partner to become a platform admin.
- Today
Emberix, with Lens as the first product
Emberix is the home for that work going forward. Lens is live today; Verto, CVP's client-engagement and billing platform for consultancies, is available separately at vertobill.com.
Part of CVP
Verto is CVP's client engagement and billing platform for consultancies and MSPs doing project work. It handles engagement tracking, approvals, and a clean handoff to QuickBooks Online. It's available separately at vertobill.com.
